OUR SPACE is a SAFE SPACE

We've all faced some mighty big changes in our lives over this past year - some days have been good, and some not so good. And in many different ways it has affected our social and emotional well-being.
So we'd like to talk about some of these changes together, with a big welcome to the ArtHouse-Our Space Family - a group of lovable puppets and other special guests who will share stories about their daily lives and even some of their struggles. And there will be an opportunity for us to all have a chat following the half-hour performance.

ABOUT ARTHOUSE
WHERE IN THE WORLD WOULD WE BE WITHOUT THE ARTS
ArtHouse is like a Village – and it’s not a small village. We estimate that close to 15,000 young people have little or no access to extra-curricular arts programs throughout the Halton Region. And while we simply can’t reach everyone, we are grateful to our Community Partners, Our Instructors, Volunteers and our Donors who are helping us to engage our most vulnerable young people providing them with better pathways to their futures. With Covid, our role changed when we temporarily went beyond the arts to serve many of our ArtHouse families with weekly fresh meals in partnership with some generous local restaurants. And our Arts programming quickly transitioned from Physical to Virtual. We’ve learned so much over the past few months, strengthening our mission to serve the Whole Child – creatively, physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually, educationally and nutritionally in an atmosphere that is supportive and safe.
OUR MISSION:
To provide accessible, safe, FREE programming with strong role-model relationships. In addition to our foundation of Arts-related Programs that support the creativity and positive well-being of our young people, our work includes homework help, cooking, gardening, environmental education and maybe just a great conversation. ArtHouse is often the child’s only extra-curricular activity. And, we may well be the only outsider with whom they feel truly comfortable.
